Building Overview
The Building Overview tab gives you a comprehensive assessment of the building’s carbon and energy performance, comparing each metric to baseline values to highlight areas for improvement.

Metrics
At the top of this tab you'll see major metrics for your building and a comparison to baseline. These include:
Embodied Carbon Intensity: Reflecting the carbon emissions tied to materials and construction processes, this metric measures the impact per square meter over the building’s lifecycle. By default, this only displays product stage (A1-A3) emissions. This can be adjusted using the drop down at the top right to construction stage (A1-A5) or whole life (A1-C4).
Operational Carbon Intensity: This represents the carbon emissions resulting from the energy consumed to operate the building over its 60-year lifespan.
Total Energy Use Intensity (TEUI): TEUI measures the building's net energy use divided by its total floor area. This metric is key for assessing operational system efficiency and identifying opportunities for upgrades or retrofits.
Thermal Energy Demand Intensity (TEDI): TEDI evaluates the energy needed for heating and cooling, reflecting the effectiveness of the building’s insulation, windows, and overall design.
SBTI Target
The first chart illustrates how your building's embodied carbon aligns with the SBTi target. This target is determined based on the building's occupancy type and occupancy start year. Since SBTi provides benchmarks only for residential and office buildings, we classify buildings accordingly: if more than 50% of the building is residential, we compare it against residential benchmarks; otherwise, we use office benchmarks. The analysis focuses on A1-A5 emissions, consistent with the scope of SBTi's framework. To learn more about the data and assumptions we used to determine the SBTI goal for your buildings please refer to the SBTI tool.
Top Embodied Carbon Contributors
This section highlights the materials with the highest embodied carbon intensities, pinpointing opportunities for targeted carbon reduction.
Operational Carbon Trends
A monthly graph of operational carbon reveals periods of peak energy consumption, aiding in optimizing building performance.

Building Element Breakdown
This detailed analysis deconstructs the building into elements, materials, and systems, presenting their respective carbon intensities. It fosters awareness of embodied carbon impacts across different components, enabling focused strategies for improvement.
